Mock Panel Schedule
Spring 2016

  1. Guidelines
  2. Schedule for Tuesday, May 3
  3. Schedule for Thursday, May 5

A. Guidelines (short version -- see How to Prepare for a Panel for long version)

  • Days/Time: Tuesday, May 3, 9:30 AM, and Thursday, May 5, 2:00 PM. The panels will start promptly.

  • Duration of presentation: Seven minutes and no more.

  • Loading presentations: E-mail your presentation to me at least an hour before the starting time on the day of the presentation or bring your presentation on a memory device at least 15 minutes before the starting time. Do not expect to download it from your e-mail!

  • Attendance: You need to be present for your presentation and for the presentations you are critiquing. You don't need to be present for the other presentations, but you might find some interesting. If you come and go, be sure you are in the room plenty of time before the presentations on your plate. We will not wait for you.

  • Review assignments: See below. Click Proposal to get and read the research proposal before the presentation. Have questions ready before the presentation (of course modify your questions based on what you hear). The primary reviewer will ask the first question, which should address the area in greatest need of clarification.

  • Written feedback: E-mail the presenter (copying me, Akhil, and Vince ) your written comments on both the proposal and the presentation within 24 hours of the presentation. Click the Presentation link to refresh your memory of what you saw.
