Note for Fall 2018: There are some notable ways
that the 2007 tests differ from this semester's midterm. First,
the above tests are take-home. Our midterm will be
in-class. Second, the above tests are designed for a
MWF class lasting 50 minutes, with a total of three tests, whereas
we will have only one test (the midterm).
However, the above do offer good opportunities for midterm
practice. Bear in mind, however, that some of the above take-home
questions may be slightly longer than typical in-class questions.
(So don't panic!)
The following problems match the coverage for our midterm:
- Test #1 (above): All problems, except
5(a), but including 5(b).
- Note that LU-factorization will not appear on our midterm.
- Test #2 (above): Problems 1, 3, 5, 6, 7.
