Abstract: Complex analysis is the calculus of complex valued functions.  However, the calculus of some familiar functions are very different in the complex plane.  One example of this is the limit function.  In the talk that I have prepared, I will show how the limit function differs from the real plane to the complex plane.  I also will show how complex analysis is important in our modern society by showing what modern technologies we owe to the study of complex analysis.
