Will problem sets be graded?
Problem sets are the heart of this course. Figuring out how to do the problems is the royal road to success on exams . Much time will be spent in class on them, and we expect that you'll spend even more time out of class. We encourage you to hand in your responses to problem sets, particularly to those questions you're unsure about. But problem sets will not be graded.

What WILL be graded?
Just exams. However, exams will contain some nontraditional questions (see Course at a Glance: Exams for more on this).

How about the final grade?
Based on the average of all exams.
