Selected Contributors:

Elizabeth Baines’ short stories have been published in numerous literary magazines and anthologies, including Best Short Stories from Stand Magazine (1988), and she published and co-edited the short-story magazine, Metropolitan. She is the author of the novels The Birth Machine and Body Cuts and an award-winning radio playwright. Her prize-winning stage play O’Leary’s Daughters was produced at the Barons Court Theatre London (2003) and as part of the Manchester 24:7 Theatre Festival, July 2004. “A Glossary of Bread” made the final of the Moondance International Film Festival Short-Story competition 2003.

Xujun Eberlein grew up in Chongquing, China, and holds a Ph.D. from MIT, USA in Civil Engineering. Her stories have appeared or are forthcoming in US literary journals Story Quarterly, Saint Ann’s Review, Cottonwood, and Night Train, among others. “Watch the Thrill” received an award from the 2003 Writer’s Digest Annual Writing Competition. She lives with her husband and daughter in Massachusetts, USA.

Anita Jackson was born in South Africa, and after reading English at Cambridge taught in London and abroad. From teaching she went into race and community relations. Her book Catching Both Sides of the Wind on the black churches in the inner city was published in the 1980s. Since then she has had short stories published in Stand, The London Magazine, and Midstream.
