Urban Specialist and China Scholar

At VCU Dr. Wu has a joint appointment in the School of World Studies and L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs. She teaches courses in both schools for the master's program in Urban and Regional Planning, and majors in Urban Studies and International Studies. Her teaching interests are in the areas of comparative urban development and policy, spatial dynamics of the global economy, and research methods. In addition she supervises directed research and thesis/dissertation research related to these areas.

Dr. Wu collaborated with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts to organize a Teachers Workshop on China during September 30 - October 1, 2006, in conjunction with the 2nd China-America Festival of Film and Culture. This exciting program was made possible by generous support from the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and National Committee on United States-China Relations. Dr. Harry Harding, University Professor at George Washington University, was the featured keynote speaker.
