About The Lab

Students working in Dr. Eissenberg’s laboratory can expect to plan, run, and report the results of experiments that use human subjects to investigate drug abuse issues. Current research involves developing methods for evaluating potential reduced exposure products for tobacco users and evaluating the toxicant exposure and other effects of waterpipe tobacco smoking (a.k.a. hookah, shisha, or narghile smoking). Emphasis is placed on drug use as a behavioral phenomenon. Dependent measures include toxicant exposure, amount, frequency, and duration of drug self-administration and subjective reports of drug effects.
