Where are the data?
Situation 1: In-line data (the form of data where the data are inside the data step). You have to tell SAS where the data lines begin and where they end.

• · Must be the last line of SAS-code in the Data step.
• · Begins after the DATALINES; statement (the data follow in the next line after this line).
• · Ends the line before the next semi-colon (the data end just before this line).
• · Good practice: Place a line with only a semi-colon after the last data line. This is called a null statement.
