Abstract. Many times to truly appreciate where we are in mathematics today, it is important to study the great minds of the past. Archimedes is quite possibly the greatest mathematician of all time. My talk will take the audience through the life of Archimedes. Included in this talk will be a look into Archimedes famous “Cattle of the Sun God” problem, and a look at the mathematics behind the war machines Archimedes was so well known for.
