A brief history of pi

Abstract. 1 Kings 7:23 says, “Also he made a molten sea of 10 cubits from brim to brim, round in compass, and 5 cubits the height thereof; and a line of 30 cubits did compass it round about.” This puts π=3, which even for the time was not a good estimation. My talk will discuss a brief history of π. Historical references, uses and estimations. I will briefly explain one of the first good derivation of pi, made by Archimedes (287-212 BC).
