We call ourselves "The Friendly Club". Anyone who walks in our door is a friend. We pride ourselves on making sure that everyone dances.
We do a number of things a bit differently from most other clubs in this area:
How much does it cost to dance? We charge $6 per person for visitors (or $7 for a few special dances) or $13 per person per month for members. Members of our New Dancer's class may attend the weekly club dance at no charge while they are taking classes. How can we afford to pay for a hall every week? Because lots of folks visit us and help us pay the rent! Please come!
Do I have to wear square dance clothes? While we welcome square dance attire, it is not required. For our theme dances we encourage everyone to join in the fun and dress to the theme if they can. For our "regular" Friday night dances most dancers just dress casually.
I'd like to take square dance lessons. Our next New Dancer's Class will begin on Tuesday Sept 17, 2013 from 7:15 to 9:15 PM at Byrd Middle School cafeteria (9400 Quioccasin Road) and continue thru February 2014. We are hosting an "OPEN HOUSE" on Friday, August 2nd when prospective new dancers can learn a few simple steps and see what square dancing is all about.
