The typeset PDF files offer a convenient way to browse through the notes. However, you cannot copy equations into your calculations and the page formatting does not lend itself to enlarged displays.

To view the LaTeX version of the notes, you will need to install Scientific Viewer, Scientific Notebook, or Scientific Workplace. The LaTeX version will contain mathematical expressions that are 'live' in the sense that you can copy them, manipulate them, graph them, verify them, etc. You can use any font size that you want because the text will wrap around to fit on the screen.

If you have an older version of Scientific Notebook, etc., you can view the LaTeX notes by right-clicking and saving to a local file and then opening that file in Scientific Notebook or Workplace. This method works smoothly with Internet Explorer and version 2.5 of Scientific Workplace. If you use Netscape, the downloaded file appears to become corrupted in some fashion but is still usable with an extra step: After attempting to open the file with Scientific Workplace (or Notebook), notice that there are now two copies of the file on your hard drive. One copy is the original file of type .rap and the other is a file of type .tex. The new .tex file seems to work although you might expect difficulties with figures.
