Update on cps keypads ("Clickers"):

So far, most of you seem to be registering without much trouble. However there have been problems for some of you.

If you started out setting up an account directly with the einstruction website, you may find that the Blackboard website insists that your keypad is already being used by someone else. You need to go back to the einstruction website and delete your keypad from there. For help,

If you are having difficulty getting the Blackboard cps registration to work properly, contact the VCU Help Desk and ask for Desktop Support specifically, Timm Miller or Toni Ellerson.

CPSOnline RF keypads ("Clickers"):

Note1: The serial numbers for the RF clickers always start with the letter 'r'. You have to enter that letter as part of the serial number or it will not work.

If you need to change your serial number, here are some detailed instructions for doing that.

Getting Blackboard to work

Although most of our course material is here, on a public web site, I use a Blackboard web site for our Discussion Forum, for online testing, and for posting grades. The latest version of Blackboard will probably require you to change the way that your computer is set up. In particular, you will need to change your security setting to allow cookies and you will need to edit any favorites or shortcuts so that they just go to the URL:

http://blackboard.vcu.edu
If you click on the button wherever you see it, you will be taken to a page that has a workable link to Blackboard.

Getting the new VCU email to work

I rely on email to notify you of important changes in the course. The new VCU email system will probably require you to make a number of changes in the way that your computer is set up. It is important that you make these changes because all of your instructors will be sending important messages to your VCU email address. For help with some of the most common difficulties, go to
