Spread of Disease

Abstract
One of the earliest mathematical models created for a biological system was for examining the spread of a disease. Even though this is one of the older areas of mathematical biology it is still one of the most active. In this talk I will cover some basic disease models followed by two models on which I am currently doing research. The first model is a Malaria model that incorporates three levels of drug resistance. The second model involves the interaction of the media with progression of the spread of a disease.
