Abstract
From central Asia to revolutionary France there have been political leaders who had mathematical ability. Specifically, Gerbert of Aurillac, Ulugh Beg, and Lazare Carnot are three we’ll consider.
This talk is about mathematicians, not mathematics. Everyone is welcome.
