Welcome
VCU CyberSecurity Lab is part of the Computer Science Department of Virginia Commonwealth University.
Mission
The mission our lab is to to discover and identify new vulnerabilities, threats and cyber-attacks against existing and future computing facilities. We develop new security techniques to mitigate the security problems in computer systems and networks. Our ongoing projects include the development of new architectures to enable privacy protection in cloud computing. We are also working on security problems related to virtual machine placement in clouds.
Opennings and Visitors
Please contact the faculty of our lab about opennings of Research Assistants, Postdoc positions, or visiting professor positions.
We require M.S. in Computer Science or related fields for students applying for Ph.D. programs. Research Assistant positions are provided to Ph.D. students only.
Research Opportunties for Undergraduate Students
We have been regularly supporting undergraduate students through Senior Project Design (CMSC451), or NSF REU grant.
Due to limit of space, we only accept one senior design team each year. CMSC451 instructor's approval is required.
To receive NSF REU support, U.S. citizenship is required.
