The VCU Mathematics Prize Problems are a competition for current VCU undergraduates. VCU also participates in regional and national undergraduate mathematics competitions including the Virginia Tech Regional Mathematics Contest and the prestigious William Lowell Putnam

- Any undergraduate student currently enrolled at VCU is eligible.
- Each solution is to be the work of one individual without any input from faculty or others.
- The solution is to be submitted with the solver's name, year in school, local phone number, and local address.
- Each solution is to be typed or legibly written.
- Entries will be graded on clarity of exposition and elegance of solution.
- Solutions submitted within two weeks of publication will be considered simultaneous. After two weeks, the first correct solution will win the prize.
- In the case of a tie, the award will be split.
- If there are more than two best solutions, a drawing will be held to determine two award winners.
- Graduate students and faculty are also encouraged to submit their solutions, though they will not be considered for a monetary award.
- Names of all solvers along with the best solution will be posted.
