(please press SUBMIT button when finished)
WARNING! Please don't use double quoatation marks in your answers.
(The questionnaire program dies when it encounters them!)
Spring 2013

If you encounter a question you've answered in a previous questionnaire and your answer hasn't changed, feel free to ignore the question.
Exception: Please continue to give your name, even if it hasn't changed.

I. Basic Information

A. Your name
II. Genome sequencing and assembly
A. Do you know what is coverage and how to calculate it?
(in light of the last part of last week's presentation on Probability and Genomes -- see the calendar)
B. Do you know how to extract quantitative assembly information from Myers et al? (i.e. SQ14)
C. Any particular issues concerning Problem Set 3?
D. Comments, questions, concerning these matters?

III. Mapping and Loops

A. How far did you get in the notes concerning mapping and loops?
B. Needless to say, the notes work much better if you try each example in BioBIKE yourself. Have you done so?
C. What concerns do you have regarding mapping and loops?
D. Any issues regarding Problem Set 4?

IV. Was Mendel Right?

A. How far did you get in the two tours?
B. Any issues in the biology (Part I)?
C. Any issues doing Part II on BioBIKE?
D. Any issues regarding the goals of the simulation?
E. Do you have an intuitive insight into the meaning of chi-square tests?

V. Search for FMRP

A. How far did you get in this tour?
B. Any issues in finding the human protein or gene sequence?
C. Any issues using the sequences as queries to Blast?
D. Any issues interpreting Blast results?
E. Any idea why using the human FMRP protein as the query easily picked up the Drosophila protein but using the human FMRP gene failed?

VI. Miscellaneous
Any other comments, questions, suggestions, or concerns you may have?

Thanks!
