January 25th Update
Click your heels and say three times, 'There no place like home'.
That's right, the VCU pool is operational and we will
be holding our last 5 practices there next week and the week after.
You need not be swimming at States to attend practice.
Here are the days we will be practicing.
All practices from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM.

Practice begins November 12, 2007
Place: VCU Pool – Franklin Street Gym
Time:  7:00am – 8:00am
Days:  Monday through Friday
– Tuesday will be designated for longer distances (200 & 500)
and IM. I expect team members to make at least three practices
a week, if they want to be considered for a meet.

Transportation
 Students will be responsible for their own transportation to and from practice and also to all meets. In the past upper class students, with cars, have transported underclassmen to school after practice. Students should park on the left hand side of Franklin Street. The right hand side of Franklin Street is a tow-a-way zone. I stay at practice until ALL students have left to make sure no student is stranded at VCU. I have, and am happy to, personally drive a student to school that does not have a ride. Maggie Walker is on my way to work so it is not an inconvenience.

 Atlee, Lee-Davis, Patrick Henry, Hanover, Trinity, Collegiate,
St. Christopher’s, St. Catherine’s, Benedictine, and St. Gertrude’s

Comments
The Athletic Department and Sports Boosters fund the swim team.
Please consider joining the Sports Boosters and contributing to
MWGSGIS athletics per their schedule.

We do have team suits which each swimmer is expected to purchase.
The cost is approximately @$60 for women and @$40 for men.
The style and locations where one can be purchased will be on the web site.

I understand that the school has swimmers that compete year around
with clubs in the area. I encourage them to try to practice with MWGSGIS
as often as they can, however I understand they are already practicing
upwards of six times a week and they might not be able to fit any more
practice time in their schedule. I do expect them to come to our meets
if they have told me they are available.  For those swimmers practicing
with their club team I require that they provide me with the number of
times they are practicing per week and have it signed by their club coach.
