Mary Munford's
Amazing Web Site of the Week
March 11th -March 18th, 2001

It's Robots!
Last weekend many Mary Munford students enjoyed seeing the
2001 FIRST Robotics Competition
at the VCU Siegel Center.

FIRST stands for
"For Inspiration and Recognition
of Science and Technology"
and they have been holding robot building competitions since 1992 so children and teenagers can enjoy science and engineering more.
FIRST has a web site about the robot building competition here

Richmond area schools that participated
this year include St Michael's School,
Richmond Community High School,
John F. Kennedy High School,
and the Governor's School,
so perhaps soon you
will be enjoying this event too.

Here is a list of the teams that competed at VCU on March 9th and 10th.
