Mary Munford's
Amazing Web Site of the Week
April 1st-14th, 2001

The week of April 1st through 7th is
National Library Week.

Did you know there are more public libraries (16,090)
in the United States than there are McDonald's?

Did you know that students visit school library media centers
almost 1.5 billion times during the school year —
about one-and-a-half times the number of visits to
state and national parks.

Read these and other facts about American libraries here

One of librarians' most important jobs today
is teaching people how to find the best
information on the Internet.
A wonderful web searching tool has been developed
by librarians that is especially for helping kids find websites
that are both good quality and that kids can understand.
It's called KidsClick!

KidsClick! even has an "advanced search"
page that lets you search for only web pages
at your reading level here .

Your most amazing link of this week --and every week- is our librarian
at Mary Munford school--Ms. Liggan.
Whenever you need to find information,
she's always there to help!
She can "link" you to the answer you need.
This week, be sure to stop by the Mary Munford School Library
and say,
"Thanks, Ms. Liggan"

Here are previous week's Amazing links .
