9WG Studios is celebrating the 25th anniversary of “Art in Shambles #1,” a black-and-white comic book self-published by artists David J. Bromley and Jim Hall, who met while attending Virginia Commonwealth University. The gallery is showing a mini retrospective of their original works as well as new paintings and posters by Bromley and recent collaborator Phillip Bowles, who also attended VCU.

Scenes in the new works have fun at the expense of artists and models, art studios, art museums and more. As the artists’ statement for the show reads, “… VCU’s most irreverent MFAs poke fun at their own profession!”

Today, “Art in Shambles #1” is considered a collectors’ item and has a worldwide following on its blog and Facebook pages. It also is part of the special collections of the Cabell Library at VCU.

All works in the exhibit are for sale. The show runs through June 30 at 9 W. Grace St. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

For details, call (804) 225-9510 or visit www.9wgstudios.com.
