Other Health Impairments
The heading other health impairments includes: allergies, AIDS, asthma, cancer, cerebral palsy, cleft palate/craniofacial deformities, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, epilepsy, heart problems, spina bifida, and skin conditions that include birthmarks, burns, and eczema. Frequently, teachers must consider students’ needs for medications, special diets, or special equipment. Adaptive aids and equipment enable students to increase their functional range.
