We will issue articles in succession on our Website to talk about our views, our opinions and our teaching method. We would like to discuss with others and listen to different ideas. Piano teaching from J. S. Bach up to now has been over three hundred years. It is necessary to study those that have been successful and effective, and eliminate those that have been unscientific. Although the method of each piano teacher cannot be the same, yet there should be a clear and unified view on the fundamental principles. Without grasping these fundamental principles, piano teaching will go astray.

Some might question our viewpoints, for instance, when we say the technical training nowadays is far more simple and easy than before and takes less time to train a student to become a professional. They think that music is more varied and richer than before, has bigger dynamic ranges, faster tempo, wider changes, so the technical requirement should be much higher and more difficult. Therefore, they believe technical training should be more complicated than before, the time involved in training a student should also be much longer. From a logical point of view this reasoning may not be wrong, but our practice and experience have proven without any doubt our view is correct: that technical training can be achieved very simply and quickly.
