The BioCirc Lab recently attended the combined 5th International Conference for Pediatric Mechanical Circulatory Support Systems & Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Perfusion and the 55th American Society for Artificial Internal Organs (ASAIO)-IFAO Annual Conference held in Dallas, TX. Graduate students Jugal Kapadia and Sonya Bhavsar both gave outstanding presentations on their research. Graduate student Steven Chopski was invited to moderate a session for the ASAIO conference. All three students were excited about their first conference experience and gained much knowledge and experience from their attendence.

Jugal Kapadia was awarded an Honorable Mention at the 55th ASAIO conference for his Top ASAIO For Young Innovators abstract and presentation entitled, "Mechanical Cavopulmonary Assist using an Intravascular Axial Flow Blood Pump."
