Alican Dalkilic, MD
Assistant Professor
Dr. Dalkilic is a Diplomate of American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Virginia
Commonwealth University MCV Campus. He specializes in the treatment
of Schizophrenia Spectrum, Mood, & Anxiety Disorders. He has
treated hundreds of individuals with emotional difficulties and consulted
on complex and treatment resistant cases. As a private psychiatrist and
also medical director of a Psychiatric Hospital he accumulated clinical
experience and expertise in treatment of a broad range of psychiatric conditions.
Besides being a clinician, he published in peer reviewed journals and has
been teaching and training residents and medical students on behavioral
science and psychiatry since 1999.
Dr. Dalkilic graduated from Yale
University Department of Psychiatry Program in 1999. He completed
his psychiatry internship at Albany
Medical College in Albany, NY. He finished Marmara
University School of Medicine in 1993 in Istanbul. In addition he
obtained a Master's of Public Health Degree on Health Administration from
George
Washington University in Washington, DC. He has the clinical knowledge,
skills, expertise, and experience to assess and address the impact of
emotional problems on lives of individuals and families.
As an academic psychiatrist Dr. Dalkilic strives to achieve the optimum
performance in the following three areas: Service to Clients and Community,
Education of Medical Students and Residents, and Research to advance Science.
