The purpose of Women in Mathematics is to encourage and promote the participation and success of women in the mathematical sciences. Students and faculty in all areas of the mathematical sciences (applied mathematics, mathematics, mathematics education, operations research, and statistics) are encouraged to participate.

Fall 2012-  On Becoming a Mathematician Series

  • On becoming a mathematician: a conversation with Dr. Rachel Ward with an emphasis on the importance of collaboration between mathematicians.  
    Rachel Ward  is an assistant professor at the University of Texas, Austin.  Her research interests include: signal processing, numerical linear algebra, and statistics.
